Growth
The business
306 Fundamentals of Marketing represents the most challenging class of my
schedule. Honestly, it was hard at the beginning to accommodate myself to the
methodology of the class. I remember the grade of my first assignments was poor.
But thanks to the instructor’s recommendations I started to improved little by
little, and by the middle of the semester I got the confidence to overcome the
problem, and I got the key to succeed in the class.
This
class helped me to explore my strengths and weaknesses. During the semester, I learned
a lot of marketing concepts, which I am looking forward to put in practice in
my future career. But, the learning experience is not limited to marketing
concepts. I think the class helps students to visualize themselves, dealing with
important issues that affect business, and people of the society. For example, the
writing assignments challenged my critical thinking, and gave me the
opportunity to experience what executives and marketers face in their daily
lives.
The
group activities tested my leadership, and communication skills. The group
activities such as the marketing analysis, the practicum, and its presentations
helped me to discover the importance of communication and team work. I did not
get the results that I expected for those assignments, but the experience to
work in group taught even more. These activities showed me the real world, and
the problem in communication, and many more issues that companies have to face
when they are taking business decisions.
Overall,
I had a really good experience in the marketing class. The class motivated me
to keep on doing the right thing, and persevere in order to reach the expected
goal. I am confident that all the knowledge acquired in the marketing class will
help me to succeed in other group assignments, in the understanding of others
classes, in my Capstone project, and in my future career.
